ACTION JACKSON’S supports Airdrie Abilities Centre Society. The AACS is a non-profit Society, committed to promote equal opportunities, and demonstrate strengths and abilities of persons in our community, with special needs for all ages. They provide a gathering place for FAMILIES with Special Needs, physically and cognitively challenged people working with their caregivers. Their goal is to assist and ensure that all individuals receive the support they need to be actively and fully involved, with an emphasis on social interaction and participation on various arts and crafts projects that will give back to the community.  www.airdrieabilities.ca

Autism

We, The ACTION JACKSON’S, want to bring AWARENESS, SUPPORT, AND RESEARCH,   to families who have individuals in their families with AUTISM, in Airdrie, and Calgary area.   AUTISM is on the rise, 1 in 69, have been diagnosed with Autism.

Brenda Jackson’s son, who is now 10 years old, along with so many other children in Airdrie, has Autism.Autism knows no racial, ethnic, social boundaries, or lifestyle, and can affect any family, any child, at any time. THERE IS NO CURE.

Autism is a complex mental developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life.  The Doctors and Scientists feel Autism is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the normal functioning of the brain or some say it could be caused by too many vaccinations at one time given to babies, or maybe the environment, there is no proof what causes Autism, which can impact development in the brain, in the areas of social interaction, behavior problems and communication skills. Getting a diagnosis of Autism early, for a child, is very important, it can be a very difficult period, for families. Perhaps the most important step after the diagnosis is to begin Early Childhood Intervention therapy.  AUTISM is a vast spectrum and affects each person differently at various degrees.

There is only so much time you have to (open the window for the children) to get them help. We The ACTION JACKSON’S want to help families with AUTISM in Airdrie, Calgary area.
